A Confidential Enrollment Form is a child enrollment form that is intended to comply with the requirements of law on confidentiality. This form is completed by parents or guardians for the child. The law that must be complied with here is the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act which is designed to uphold the privacy of parents and students with regard to student records. Confidential or classified records are usually used for the purpose of admissions and management in keeping the child's records. The law allows the parents to have access to the child's records only before the legal age. Once the child reaches 18, parents can no longer have full discretion over the child's academic records.
